1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions:
- "Company" means Smashing Windows Ltd trading as iDoor
- "Customer" means the person or entity ordering goods and services from the Company
- "Goods" means composite doors and related products supplied by the Company
- "Services" means the supply and installation services provided by the Company
- "Contract" means the agreement between the Company and Customer for the sale and installation of Goods
- "Site Survey" means the mandatory onsite inspection and measurement service
2. Basis of Contract
2.1. These Terms and Conditions apply to all contracts for the supply and installation of composite doors by the Company.
2.2. All orders are subject to a mandatory onsite survey before confirmation.
2.3. No contract shall come into existence until the Company has completed the Site Survey and issued written confirmation of acceptance of the order.
2.4. The Company does not offer mail order services. All goods must be professionally installed by our qualified installation team.
2.5. Any quotation provided is valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
3. Site Survey
3.1. All orders are subject to a mandatory Site Survey to ensure accurate measurements and assess installation requirements.
3.2. The Site Survey will be arranged at a mutually convenient time following initial enquiry.
3.3. The Company reserves the right to amend the quotation following the Site Survey if additional work or materials are required.
3.4. If the Site Survey reveals that installation is not feasible or would require significant additional work not included in the original quotation, either party may cancel the order without penalty.
4. Price and Payment
4.1. The price for the Goods and Services shall be as set out in the Company's written quotation following the Site Survey.
4.2. All prices are quoted in pounds sterling and include VAT at the prevailing rate.
4.3. A deposit of 50% of the total price is required upon confirmation of order.
4.4. The balance is payable upon completion of installation, before our installation team leaves the premises.
4.5. Payment can be made by bank transfer, debit card, or credit card. Cash payments over £500 will not be accepted.
4.6. Time for payment shall be of the essence. If payment is not made when due, the Company reserves the right to charge interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate.
5. Delivery and Installation
5.1. Installation dates are estimates only and time shall not be of the essence.
5.2. The Company will endeavour to meet agreed installation dates but shall not be liable for any delays.
5.3. The Customer must ensure clear access to the property and installation area on the agreed date.
5.4. The Customer must ensure an adult is present throughout the installation process.
5.5. Installation includes removal and disposal of existing doors unless otherwise agreed.
5.6. Any additional work identified during installation (e.g., structural repairs, electrical work) will be quoted separately and requires Customer approval before proceeding.
6. Customer Responsibilities
6.1. The Customer must provide accurate information about the property and any relevant building restrictions or regulations.
6.2. The Customer is responsible for obtaining any necessary planning permissions or building regulations approval.
6.3. The Customer must notify the Company of any changes to the property that may affect installation.
6.4. The Customer must protect furniture and belongings in the installation area. The Company is not responsible for damage to items not removed from the work area.
7. Cancellation
7.1. The Customer may cancel the order at any time before installation begins.
7.2. If cancellation occurs after the Goods have been ordered from the manufacturer:
- The deposit is non-refundable
- If the Goods have been manufactured, the Customer is liable for the full contract price
7.3. The Company may cancel the order if the Site Survey reveals installation is not feasible.
8. Warranties and Guarantees
8.1. Composite doors come with a 10-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
8.2. Installation work is guaranteed for 2 years from the date of completion.
8.3. Glass units are guaranteed for 5 years against seal failure.
8.4. Warranties do not cover:
- Fair wear and tear
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or accident
- Alterations or repairs by third parties
- Damage caused by extreme weather events
8.5. To claim under warranty, the Customer must notify the Company in writing within 7 days of discovering the defect.
9. Limitation of Liability
9.1. The Company's total liability in contract, tort, or otherwise shall not exceed the total price paid by the Customer.
9.2. The Company shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss.
9.3. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Force Majeure
10.1. The Company shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Acts of God, extreme weather
- Pandemic, epidemic, or government restrictions
- Strike, lock-out, or industrial action
- Supply chain disruptions
- Material shortages
11. Data Protection
11.1. The Company will process personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
11.2. Personal data will only be used for the purposes of fulfilling the contract and will not be shared with third parties except as necessary for delivery and installation.

12. Complaints Procedure
12.1. Any complaints should be addressed in writing to:

12.2. Complaints will be acknowledged within 5 working days and resolved within 28 days where possible.
13. General
13.1. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties.
13.2. No variation of these Terms shall be valid unless in writing and signed by both parties.
13.3. If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
13.4. These Terms shall be governed by English law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
14. Service Areas
14.1. The Company provides supply and installation services to the following areas:
- Aylesbury and surrounding villages
- Milton Keynes
- High Wycombe
- Thame
- Princes Risborough
- Buckingham
- And other areas within Buckinghamshire
14.2. Service to areas outside our standard coverage may incur additional charges.
